A PWA is just a website your phone can install directly from the browser. No download, no app store listing, and because it's still the same live site underneath, it's always up to date. There's no separate version to fall behind.
Here's how to add it.
iOS (Safari)
- Open canyoubeatwellington.nz in Safari
- Tap the ••• button in the toolbar
- Tap Share
- Tap Add to Home Screen
- Tap Add
Android (Chrome)
- Open canyoubeatwellington.nz in Chrome
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right
- Tap Add to Home screen (Chrome sometimes offers Install app instead, same result)
- Tap Install, or Add
Once it's on your home screen, it opens without the browser's address bar or tabs cluttering things up, just the weather and the quips, one tap away.
